Food definitely hits different when it’s locally owned, made with aloha and supporting a small business. Here are some of my favorite places to eat on Maui that I truly think are worth checking out!

🍜 Star Noodle @star.noodle – Asian-inspired share plates, fresh noodles made in-house, amazing cocktails and the perfect spot for a cozy meal with a view of Māla Pier.
🌊 Sea House Restaurant (Nāpili Kai) @seahousemaui – Located right on gorgeous Nāpili Bay, this locally owned favorite serves fresh seafood and island-inspired dishes with the most unreal oceanfront views. Perfect for sunset.
🏝 Plantation House Restaurant @plantationhousemaui – A classic Kapalua spot overlooking the golf course and the Pacific. Known for their locally sourced ingredients and elegant island-style brunch + dinner menus.
🍛 Kalei’s Lāhainā @kaleislahaina – A local favorite for plate lunches and Hawaiian comfort food. Super casual and so ono.
🍝 Penne Pasta @pennepastacafe - Homemade Italian food that used to be right in the heart of Lāhainā, but after the fire they’ve transitioned into a food truck on West Maui.
🥣 Baya Bowls @bayabowlsmaui – The cutest little açaí bowl trailer serving super fresh fruit, locally-grown toppings and the best textures.
🌎 Earth Aloha Eats @earthalohaeats – One of the best vegan spots on island – locally sourced ingredients and plant-based dishes that even non-vegans love.
🥡 Nutcharee’s Thai Food @nutchareesthaifood – Family owned Thai restaurant with authentic dishes that are full of flavor (order the curry — trust me).
🥗 Fork & Salad @forkandsaladmaui – A health-forward spot serving fresh salads, wraps and sandwiches made with locally sourced ingredients.
🍅 Sale Pepe @salepepemaui – Rustic Italian restaurant with a cozy vibe and handmade pizzas, pastas and desserts. It’s run by a husband and wife team and you feel the love in every plate.
🥐 Kihei Caffe @kiheicaffe – One of the most iconic breakfast spots on the island. Huge portions, casual vibes and everything is made fresh daily.
🍃 Joey’s Kitchen @joeyskitchenhi – Chef Joey brings Filipino and Hawaiian flavors together in the best way. Locally owned and full of comfort food options.
🍰 Stillwell’s Bakery & Cafe @stillwellsbakery – A long-time Maui staple for pastries, pies and local style breakfast/lunch. Their cream horn is famous for a reason.
🌱 A’a Roots @aarootsmaui – Plant-based café offering super fresh bowls, smoothies and wraps made with local + organic ingredients. Perfect for a healthy stop after the beach.
